Nick is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s in Computer Science and Philosophy from Western University. He is interested in how ethics can be leveraged to improve the impact of technological progress on society. Nick is most experienced in student advocacy, previously working as Associate to the President on his university’s students’ council, as well as advocating for increased student participation in provincial decision-making in British Columbia.
Dynamic, unique, needed.
So many of the problems we’re dealing with as a society stem not from the beliefs or ideologies we hold as individuals, but the reactions we have to those who hold beliefs or ideologies different from ours. In the face of rising levels of polarization I think finding ways of empathizing and connecting with people we disagree with is one of the most important challenges we need to address.
I’ve been continuously impressed by the adaptability and range of impakt. One of the organization’s defining strengths is its ability to tackle completely novel problems with a consistent level of thoughtfulness and precision.
